Aramco Now Owns 49% of HUMAIN. The 3GW AI Data Centre Figure Is Still a 2030 Target
Aramco has completed its acquisition of a 49% stake in HUMAIN, contributing approximately SAR9.9 billion in cash during 2026 alongside AI, compute and digital assets. PIF retains 51%. HUMAIN says it plans to deploy 3GW of AI data-centre capacity by 2030, but that figure represents future infrastructure rather than capacity operating today.

Arabian Current
Aramco has completed its acquisition of 49% of HUMAIN and is contributing approximately SAR9.9 billion in cash plus AI, compute and digital assets. HUMAIN's 3GW AI data-centre figure remains a 2030 deployment target.
Saudi Arabia has consolidated two major pools of artificial-intelligence capital and infrastructure inside HUMAIN.
Aramco has completed the acquisition of a 49 percent stake in the PIF-backed AI company.
The Public Investment Fund retains 51 percent ownership.
The transaction has therefore moved beyond announcement into a completed ownership change.
Aramco is contributing SAR9.9 billion in cash
Aramco says the transaction involves approximately SAR9.9 billion, or USD2.6 billion, of cash contributions to HUMAIN during 2026.
The contribution also includes AI, compute and digital assets.
The economic value of the overall transaction therefore extends beyond the cash amount alone.
PIF remains the majority shareholder
PIF retains 51 percent of HUMAIN after the transaction.
Aramco holds the remaining 49 percent through a wholly owned subsidiary.
That gives HUMAIN two Saudi institutions with different asset bases behind the same AI platform: sovereign investment capability from PIF and industrial, compute and digital capabilities from Aramco.
Three gigawatts is the 2030 plan
HUMAIN says it plans to deploy 3 gigawatts of AI data-centre capacity by 2030.
That is one of the largest numbers attached to the company's strategy.
It should not be interpreted as 3 gigawatts already constructed, energised or serving customers today.
The capacity has to be developed over the remaining period to 2030.
HUMAIN is intended to cover the entire AI stack
The company is building across data centres, high-performance infrastructure, cloud platforms, AI models and applications.
Its portfolio includes ALLaM, an Arabic-focused multimodal large language model, alongside infrastructure and industry solutions.
The ownership transaction is therefore not limited to a single data-centre project.
Aramco becomes a customer as well as a shareholder
Aramco says it expects to use HUMAIN infrastructure to deploy AI across its own industrial operations.
That gives HUMAIN a potential anchor user inside one of the world's largest energy companies.
It also means the relationship can generate value through internal industrial applications as well as external AI customers.
Aramco already reports value from technology deployment
Aramco says it has achieved USD11.3 billion in Technology Realized Value since 2023, with a significant portion attributed to AI solutions.
That figure belongs to Aramco's wider technology programme and should not be treated as revenue generated by HUMAIN.
The HUMAIN investment creates a new structure around future AI infrastructure and services.
The next important numbers are physical
Cash ownership is now clear.
The harder evidence will come from data-centre capacity under construction, megawatts actually energised, customer contracts, utilisation and revenue.
Those figures will show how quickly HUMAIN converts the 3GW ambition into operating infrastructure.
What Arabian Current is watching
Watch data-centre construction, energised capacity, compute deployments, external customers, industrial applications inside Aramco and how much of the 3GW target becomes operational before 2030.
The transaction is complete. The infrastructure buildout is not.
HUMAIN was wholly backed by PIF following its 2025 launch.
Aramco has become a 49% shareholder while PIF retains 51%, combining capital and technology assets inside the same AI company.
The next evidence will be physical data-centre construction, capacity coming online, customers and monetisation of the expanded infrastructure.
What supports the signal.
Claims stay source-linked, with limits recorded.
Aramco and SPA confirm the transaction has closed, the 49/51 ownership split, approximately SAR9.9 billion of 2026 cash contributions and HUMAIN's planned 3GW data-centre deployment by 2030.
Operational use matters more than launch-day claims or model marketing.
Models, infrastructure, research and governance are separated when they imply different things.
The story is framed around what changes for Saudi Arabia organisations and decision-makers.
