MEEZA Has Awarded a QAR 500M+ Data Centre Build. That Capacity Is Not Live Yet

MEEZA has awarded Elegancia a contract worth more than QAR 500 million to build a new data centre designed for hyperscale cloud and high-density AI workloads. The construction award expands Qatar's infrastructure pipeline, but it does not represent operating capacity today.

DEPLOYMENT SIGNAL

MEEZA has awarded a QAR 500 million-plus turnkey data-centre construction contract to Elegancia, adding to Qatar's AI and cloud infrastructure pipeline, but the new capacity is not yet described as operational.

Qatar's data-centre construction pipeline has gained another large contract.

MEEZA has awarded Elegancia Contracting and Industries, part of Estithmar Holding, a turnkey contract worth more than QAR 500 million for a new data centre.

The project is intended to support hyperscale cloud providers and high-density artificial-intelligence workloads.

But a construction contract is not the same thing as available computing capacity.

Elegancia has been hired to build the facility

Estithmar Holding says the project will be delivered across two construction phases.

The turnkey scope includes site preparation, structural and architectural works, mechanical and electrical systems, ICT, security, fire protection, controls, testing and final handover.

That places the project firmly in the delivery stage.

The announcement does not say that customers can use the new capacity today.

MEEZA is already in a much larger capacity expansion

The new contract sits inside a broader buildout.

MEEZA said earlier this year that its operating data-centre capacity had reached 18 megawatts following completion of a 4MW expansion.

The company has also said it intends to increase total capacity to more than 60MW over a phased expansion programme.

Projects in that pipeline include M-VAULT 6, M-VAULT 7 and M-VAULT 8.

QSTP is becoming a larger part of that pipeline

The latest announcement says the new facility will strengthen Qatar Science and Technology Park's role in advanced digital infrastructure.

MEEZA had previously disclosed plans for a 16MW M-VAULT 7 facility at QSTP and said construction was expected to begin in the second half of 2026.

However, the latest contract announcement does not explicitly identify the newly awarded project by the M-VAULT 7 name.

Arabian Current therefore does not treat the two descriptions as interchangeable without further confirmation.

The demand side is already visible

MEEZA has announced multiple long-term agreements with global hyperscale customers as it expands capacity for cloud and AI workloads.

That makes the construction programme more than a speculative real-estate build.

The operational question is how quickly contracted and planned capacity becomes ready for service.

What Arabian Current is watching

Watch for the exact facility designation, construction milestones, megawatt capacity, commissioning dates and customer handovers.

The strongest next signal will be a Ready for Service milestone rather than another construction announcement.

WHAT CHANGED
BEFORE

MEEZA was already expanding beyond its existing 18MW operating base through several new data-centre projects.

NOW

Elegancia has been awarded a contract worth more than QAR 500 million to deliver another facility across two construction phases.

NEXT

The next operational evidence will be construction milestones, capacity disclosure, commissioning and Ready for Service.

EVIDENCE BOUNDARY

Estithmar Holding confirms the contract value, two-phase construction and turnkey scope. QNA confirms the award and intended use for hyperscale cloud and high-density AI workloads. MEEZA's earlier disclosures provide capacity-expansion context.
