Telegram Investment Offers Using the XTB MENA Name: Scam or Legit?
VERDICT BASIS

The DFSA says scammers are impersonating the legitimate XTB MENA Limited through Telegram, fake contracts, a fraudulent website and advance-fee demands.

This scam works because the company name being used is real.

The Dubai Financial Services Authority has warned that scammers are impersonating XTB MENA Limited, a legitimate DFSA-authorised financial firm.

The impersonators are offering supposed investment opportunities while using the real firm's name to create credibility.

The verdict on those impersonated offers is AVOID.

The real XTB MENA is regulated

The DFSA Public Register lists XTB MENA Limited as a DIFC company with DFSA reference number F006316.

Its authorised activities include arranging deals in investments and dealing in certain investments as principal, subject to the firm's regulatory permissions and restrictions.

That genuine regulatory status is exactly what makes the impersonation convincing.

The scammers copied the real firm's identity

According to the DFSA, the impersonators use the name XTB MENA Limited and approach potential investors through unsolicited Telegram communications.

They send fictitious investment documents, including contracts that falsely name the legitimate firm as a counterparty.

The regulator also identified a fraudulent website using the domain xtbmenalimited.cloud.

Advance fees are part of the scheme

The DFSA says victims may be asked to pay charges described as fees for an investment agreement or for KYC activation.

The regulator says the scammers have no relationship with XTB MENA Limited and have never been authorised by the DFSA to provide financial services in or from the DIFC.

It advises people not to send money to parties involved in the scheme.

A real licence does not authenticate the person contacting you

Checking that a company exists on a regulator's register is only one part of verification.

A scammer can copy the name of a genuinely regulated business.

The next check is whether the website, telephone number, email address and communication channel match the official contact details of that firm.

XTB's own contact page lists its UAE office and official contact details separately from the fraudulent domain identified by the DFSA.

The scope of the verdict

Arabian Current is not assigning an AVOID verdict to XTB MENA Limited.

The regulated company is the party being impersonated.

The verdict applies to the Telegram investment offers, fake contracts, fraudulent website and fee requests described in the DFSA warning.
